Give Away Day


I'm participating in Sew, Momma, Sew!'s Give Away Day.  In fact, I'm participating twice, here and over at the family blog, here.  At Janice Elaine Sews, I'm giving away two charm packs of Nature's Notebook by April Cornell.

  7. We had a wonderful weekend we spent time with family in Minnesota and with family in Madison all in the same weekend. Lots of driving but yet lots of visiting :)
    The week appears to be busy finishing up the last of the shopping in order to get the gifts out in the mail for the packages to arrive in time for Christmas.

  9. It was a busy weekend - I worked, I finished a small sewing project, made progress on a big sewing project, took the teenagers to play paintball, spent some good time with the baby, watched basketball as a family, and snuggled on the couch with my husband!

  10. This week I have two kids with Doctors appointments for annual check ups. I have a character education assembly to go to because two of my boys are getting an award. I have a kindergarten concert to attend, as well I am going to class to help with gingerbread house making. We have a birthday party, a school council holiday thank you party, a school wide family holiday open house, and thats just off the top of my head :)

  11. Saturday I did all sorts of errands getting gifts and things for the family. Sunday I spent most of the day taking care of my injured corgi Basil (he tore his ACL) and sewing string blocks for Orca Bay Mystery Quilt while keeping him comfortable in my sewing room.

  14. I do not plan nothing special on weekends before Christmas. My BF will be away for some days and alone I will probably watch some movies or sew my unfinished projest. I look forward for some free days between Christmas and New Year. Thank you for the chance to win :)

  36. Jan, this is lovely! My bed is covered with throw pillows with some old April COrnell pillowcases I bought many many years ago -- in this color scheme!   75. Thanks for a wonderful giveaway! It was a weekend filled with time visiting friends. On Friday, I went with a dear friend to a local quilt shop to see the quilts from Kaffee's new book, had coffee with my friend Brenda and dinner out with my hubby and son. Saturday was breakfast with my former principal and my book club (we've been together for 10 years) Sunday was Mass and a super potluck dinner with neighbors. I'm trying to do all my "parties" and holiday get togethers early. With surgery later this week, it will be a different holiday:)

  79. We went to a company Christmas party last Saturday night. It was cold and raining. So, it was miserable weather for an outdoor party! But, it was fun too simply because we got to get out. :-)

    We tried out something new with Turkey on Sunday and, for the most part, it was a success.

Then I got up today and was sewing this morning when the pest control guy came for quarterly treatment. That was fine because I put him on the calendar...for tomorrow. This afternoon was planned to make Christmas chocolates with a friend and three others, but due to a storm the electricity was out , they did not find the problem so my friend is still without electricity. So we cancelled the workshop. Tomorrow I have no plans so maybe some quilting and visiting blogs. Thursday my husband is going to Holland for some days. I'll bring him to the train and then do some shopping for a friend and myself.

At friday the research festival takes place in leipzig... it'll go until the late evening and is more kind of a get together for everyone in science in leipzig than anything else ^^ also a lot of former students take the opportunity to come back to leipzig to meet old friends at the research festival (and yes, there is also a lot of research presented, but it is free for everyone)... then I'll get some visit from a friend.... aaaaaaaaaaand have to get done with a lot of christmas presents! ^^

  170. My week started off great, cuz Kid the Younger surprised me by coming home from college. He'll be staying the month that school is off, and I'm super happy about that. The rest of the week (well, the next couple of days anyway) are dedicated to finishing the final pair of socks needed as christmas presents
