My new project is to make some blocks for the Temecula Valley Modern Quilt Guild's first Charity Quilt. A FQ bundle of Denise Schmidt's new line Eastham was donated for this quilt and cut into 2.5-inch strips. Members were free to take some strips and create either a 12.5-inch or 6.5-inch Log Cabin block. Our finished quilt will be donated to GenerateHope, a charity that empowers trafficked young women to discover a future of freedom.
I'm going to use this traditional looking fabric to make a couple of modern looking Log Cabin Blocks. That's my plan, at least.
BTW, my last post asked my readers to vote for my Rocket Ship Quilt. I was in Chicago when I found out the quilt I made for the Northcott Fabric Chip Pack Challenge had been chosen one of the 10 finalists eligible for the voting. I was thrilled. This was my first time entering a challenge and to be selected was very heady. I finished in second place after the voting was finished. I'm still thrilled to have finished in the top three!
May your bobbins always be full,
Oh my!!! Congratulations!!! Totally deserved, I may add....... Interesting fabrics and will be curious to see your finished block(s). These are busy days.....yikes!!!!
