Every year I post my photos from Quiltcon.  This year is no different, but I'm going to try to limit myself to my favorites in each category.  My favorites are usually not the prize winners!

A Really Old Quilt

This quilt was made by my Grandmothers' Great Grandmother.  It just came into my possession via a cousin who is downsizing.  She'd listed it on Craig's List and her sister sprang into action and said she should consider giving it to me because I'm a quilter.  A few text messages and emails resulted in the quilt arriving at my house.  I assured both cousins that it would stay in the family.  It needs some TLC but it's really in good shape.

My grandmother was born in 1891.  We don't know which of her great grandmother's made this quilt, but they were all born in the 1700s.  I bet it was made in the late 1700s or early 1800s and of course, it was all stitched by hand.

I had lunch with my friend Jane this week and described the quilt to her.  She asked if it was a Drunkards' Path, and I bet it is.  What do you think?

Quiltcon Recap, Handwork

I've been back from Quiltcon East in Savannah for two weeks, so I thought I'd better get some post up about the quilts I saw.  I'm not going to do much commentary, I'll let the quilts speak for themselves.
