A couple of photos

A couple of "quilty" photos, today.

Last week, I picked up two quilts from my long arm quilter, Janiel.  She had this quilt hanging in her living room   It looks like such an easy pattern, right up my ally.

I walk 3 or 4 days each week.  Last week it rained a lot, so I drove to the mall to get my walk in.  I spotted this delightful "quilty" dress in the window of a children's shop.  Too bad my only granddaughter is 20!

Pumpkin Fun

I explained last week about how I received these great blocks, the post is here.

I played with them a bit, and decided to make a small wall hanging for my front door, and a matching pillow cover.

I did my usual with the back of the pillow cover.  I used the front of a man's shirt.  This one had 3 pockets!

I used the last three to make a table runner.  This is going to be a gift.  I took inside and outside photos of the table runner; I don't think either photo does the colors justice.  But, I think you get the idea.

Bookshelf wall-hanging and pillow-cover

I finally finished the bookshelf wall-hanging and pillow cover.

For the pillow backing, I used the front of an old shirt, I even left the pocket in place.

I thought I might make a good "hiding place".
I used the back of the same shirt for the wall-hanging backing.

Valentine wall-hanging

I was inspired by Jacquelyn's (Tallgrass Prairie Studio) tutorial.  My block turned out larger, I guess I sew a very scant quarter inch!  I was a little disappointed with my background fabric, I should have used a bright white, but I was concentrating on scraps.

I added a couple of very free-form embroidery hearts, I think they help.  I'm linking up to Fabric Tuesday at Quilt Story.
