I've decided to make an Autumn themed quilt. I love the ones I've seen with fall leaves; I just don't like some of the leaf patterns because they seemed rigid. I found one that I really liked on two different blogs, one in Russian and one in Spanish. I liked that the leaf looked "natural", to me, like a real maple leaf.
The Spanish language blogger, Paula of
A Toda Tela, included
a sketch, with dimensions, so I'm utilizing that.
A couple of years ago I won some FQs from Lizzie House, 51 Fat Eights, in fact, and I've decided to use them for this quilt.
I won't use all of this fabric, but I believe I'll get a nice Autumn Quilt from these fabrics.
What are you working on?
May your bobbins always be full,
I saw a beautiful table runner you had pinned and it had me thinking the same thing.
ReplyDeleteThat fabric is gorgeous and will be a perfect grouping for this! I agree, most leaf patterns lack movement and seem "cast in stone"....you found a very nice alternative! Will be anxious to see how this comes along....hugs, Doreen
ReplyDeleteI know that it was a few years ago, but do you recall the size of the background squares you used to make the point of the leaf. Keeping my fingers crossed that you do.
ReplyDeleteThis one is tricky, 5.5” by 3.5” rectangle
Delete(Cut in half diagonally. Start cutting 3/8” from the corner of alternating short sides.) If you give me your email I'll send you the info that I've sent others about this quilt.
