Busy, busy, busy!

Well, I have been busy sewing blocks; just not busy posting them!  Most of these were made with leftover bits and pieces from other projects.  The trees and the barns are the exceptions.  I've been making these to add to the other blocks I've made in conjunction with the Charity Quilt Project my guild does.  Each month a member presents a block for the other members to make and donate to the project.  Every month I made 4 blocks, 2 to donate and two to keep.

This group is the exception.  I'm keeping 4 of these and donating 1.

The keepers, plus these extra blocks are going to be a large sample quilt.  I've spent the morning working on the layout.  Now, I'm going to let it sit for a while.  I'll come back to it tomorrow and stitch it together.  I have to say that it's been fun using the leftover blocks and HSTs to make something new!

Playing Catch-Up

I just realized that I've made two sets of  TVMQG BOM and not posted them.  I just made another set, so I'm playing catch-up and posting three sets in one post.

First, here are the blocks for March, the Four-Leaf Clover Block.

Next were the Modern Movement Blocks for April.

And finally, the Double Pinwheel Block for May.

All of the blocks are 12.5 inches square.  As I make the BOMs, I'm making 2 for our guild and 2 for a future quilt.  I'm always planning ahead.

The Disappearing Quilt Blocks Challenge quilt top is finished.

I haven't been posting my progress on this quilt, but I have been working hard.  I'm going to Quiltcon next wee, and feel like I'm under a deadline!

I used three different disappearing blocks for this design.  Two you probably know all about, the disappearing 9-patch and the disappearing 4-patch; the third block is the Intersection Block that I found on Film in the Fridge.

This quilt top measures 77" x 77".  Now, I'm off to contruct the quilt back.

Heart Blocks

These are the Heart Blocks that I made for the Temecula Valley MQG Block of the Month ~ Charity Quilt project.  Each month we're introducing a new block as the Block of the Month.  We're asking members to make at least one block for our future Charity sewing and suggest making one or more to keep for herself.  

This month we used the Cluck Cluck Sew tutorial but needed to add new cutting sizes for the 12.5-inch blocks we're collecting.

Below are the blocks I made as samples to show at the January meeting.  I'm keeping these for myself.  These are so easy and so fast!

Details for Quilts for Pulse Donations

We're all aware of the horror that happened over the weekend in Orlando.  Because quilters are carers and givers there has been a huge outpouring.  Alissa, the president of the Orlando MQG has started a drive for quilts and quilt blocks.  You can read about it here.

I'm a member of the local modern quilt guild, the Temecula Valley Modern Quilt Guild, and I started a blog, surprise, to try to keep everyone up to date with the goings on of the guild.  The guild is in its' infancy, six months.  Someone else is in charge of social media, but there was no blog, but now there is.  You can check it out here:  TVMQG
