What time is it?

It's binding time!  These six quilts need binding!  Two are queen-size and the others are lap quilts.  I better get busy because my LAQ has six more; three will be ready at the end of June and three will be ready at the end of July.

This pandemic has really kept me busy making quilts.  I'd rather be creating than binding, but, "Oh, Well"!

Urban Life Quilt for a Baby Girl

Quilt back

Photos are not the best because they were taken inside on a stormy day.  My haircutter, Emily, who no longer works, still comes to my home and cuts my hair, whenever I need a haircut.  She and her husband are adding to their family; they have two great boys and the new baby is a girl!  I used some of my precious Central Park fabric for this baby quilt.  I love the pantograph called Jungle Animals.

The quilt measures 46 x 48 inches.

I have a lovely stack of quilts...

And they need binding!

Five quilts in my UFO pile.  I've picked them up from my long-arm quilter, Janelle, and I'm determined to finish them before I start on a new project.  The new project will be a Meadow Quilt.  I did take some time yesterday and plotted color placement.  I'm pretty satisfied, but I'll most likely fool around with it a little more before I start cutting.  An interesting thing about the Meadow Quilt, is you don't use your rotary cutter very much!  Very old school.

I've got a stack of quilts to bind...

And they're all queen-size.  From the top, Autumn Leaves 95 x 95", Vintage Modern 70 x 87", and Mandalay HSR 85 x 88.5".

It took me about 4 days to get to this point.  I had thought I'd have all the bindings sewn on by now, so much for thinking!

The colors of the bindings aren't showing up very well from the top, they ar Kona Wheat, Kona Black and Kona Cadet.

Now, I'm ready to start on the first one.  Photos to follow, of course.

Binding in my future.

I've been busy.  I had two quilts set aside that needed binding, then on Friday I picked up four more.  The little video is only 12 seconds, tell me what you think of it.  I've also taken on a commission, but I'm determined to get the bindings on these six quilts before I start another project.  I'll also need to take many photos and list some of them in my etsy shop.

A Tall Stack

Bob and I are finally home from our six week anniversary trip.  We had a great time, each week was wonderful.  Before I left town I picked up this stack of four quilts, they are all ready for binding, I just have to find the time.  This weekend is looking good; I'll keep my fingers crossed.  From the bottom, this is a queen sized sample quilt I made, and it's staying here at Casa Prytz; next up, a Pale Geese quilt for a surprise gift; then the Dolce quilt for the shop; the top one is a Lush Delectable Mountain quilt that may just stay here, too, I really love it.

A lovely stack of quilts, just waiting for bindings.

My long arm quilter has a couple of vacations planned.  Right now, she's in Connecticut, visiting her daughter, and in March she and her hubby are going on a cruise.  Before she left for CT, she concentrated on getting some of my quilts back to me.  She still has two!  She's a wonderful gal and I really like working with her.  Before I found her I tried four other long arm quilters.  Two weren't any good, and two quilted the wrong pattern on the quilts I'd entrusted to them.

The top one and the bottom one are commissioned quilts, I'll get them done first, and get them in the mail, once payment is received.  The larger center quilt is for my daughter, Carrie, and the other two are just because I made them quilts.

Reverse Star Baby Quilt

This may be my last finish of 2013!  I have 3 small quilts at my long arm quilter, and 3 more large quilts being planned, to be ready for her, before the end of the year.  But, I don't think it's fair to demand they be done before the end of the year.  She's busy enough as it is.  This 40 x 40 inch baby quilt will go in the shop, as soon as I get some more photos.  It was a bit dreary, today.

The back.

I improvised, down at the pool.  Because it was so overcast, no one was taking advantage of the facilities,   The pool was smooth as glass.  Sun is expected tomorrow, so more photos, then.

Bouncing Baby Boy Quilts

Although these two quilts are made using the same pattern and the same fabrics, they are different, as you can easily see.  Plus, one is bound in gold and the other in gray.

The stitch pattern is called Bear, Moose and Pine, I think it's a great choice for these Boy Quilts.  It goes with the fabric, so well.

This is me trying to get a photo of the two quilts, together.  I finally got an acceptable one.

These quilts are going to two young couples that are each expecting their second sons.  Even though they are all from this area, I don't think they know each other!  One Mom is my fantastic hair-cutter, who worked at Barnes and Noble with me, and the other is the daughter in law of my daughters' best friend.  They'll be receiving these, shortly.

Linking up with Fabric Tuesday.

Getting ready for binding.

I picked up the twin size reversible Churn Dash quilt I made for my grandson this week, from my long arm quilter.  You can read about making it here.  I'm in love with the way it turned out.  The Churn Dash blocks are great but the secondary design of squares and diamonds really draws me in.

I'm auditioning fabric for binding; I think I'll go with the darker gray.  Sorry, Kona Coal, Charcoal beat you out, this time.

It's Labor Day, and I've been laboring

Warning, lots of photos.  These quilts are the result of my Plan B conundrum. You can read about it here.

This is the first quilt, Giant HSTs, that I put binding on, today.

This is the quilt back, and a shot of the loopy quilting.

I used Kona Chartreuse for the binding on both quilts, and inserted a patch of contrast in the binding.

Here's the second quilt, Random Stepping Stones.  Same fabrics, different design.

This photo shows the dragonfly quilting on this quilt.  The binding patch shows up better on this quilt.  I'm pretty much doing this on all my quilts, now.

Here's the back of this quilt.  It's nearly identical to the back of the top quilt.

Random and Scrappy Stepping Stones Quilt

When I put this quilt top together, in April, I tried to keep it really random.  I actually had one small sack of 2.5 x 2.5" pieces and one of 5 x 2.5" strips; I pulled one from each sack and stitched them together, unless they were the same fabric.  I kept stitching, randomly until the quilt top measured 52 x 64 inches.

The quilt back was put together with random large pieces of fabric that had green in common.  The binding is Kona Herb, and a scrap of green print.

Best Quilt Model

Even though it is hot and humid outside, Bob agreed to be my quilt model, today.  This little quilt measures 43 x 48 inches and is made entirely of leftover charm squares.  The quilt back is made of leftover four patches and scrap whites.  Love using leftovers.

It's listed in my etsy shop, here.
